A Little Bit About Us

Christi

My journey began as an educator in a classroom filled with two-year-old’s, brimming with boundless curiosity. Over the years, I cherished the privilege of guiding young minds from their first steps in learning to the complex challenges of high school. A pivotal moment came while working with older students when I witnessed the remarkable impact of mindfulness and emotional regulation techniques, specifically Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). This led to a significant thought: "What if we introduced these practices to even younger minds?" Thus, my mission to nurture tranquility and emotional intelligence in little hearts and empower them to thrive in our fast-paced world was born. I find my greatest joy in the embrace of my loving family. At my side stands Jagun, my partner in life's adventures for 26 years. Our Colorado home is a sanctuary of love and laughter, shared with our daughter Lindsey, who in turn brings the delightful presence of Serenity. The bonds of family extend to our daughter Jocelyn, our son Noah, our daughter-in-law Savannah, and along with them another cherished grandchild Amare.

I have always had a passion for writing, especially poetry. While I spend my days as a chiropractor with a passion for perinatal care and a mother raising my daughter, I like to revisit parts of myself that seemed to get lost as my roles as mother and healthcare provider came into play. These days, when it comes to poetry, I tend to write about the things in life that are beautiful. From my closest friend to my daughter to my family and all the beautiful simple things, poetry is a healthy and effective outlet for me. When I was younger I would write about my mental struggles and other external issues, but I have stepped away from that genre. I strive to be a caring, compassionate, and empathetic friend, family member, healthcare provider, and overall human being as often as possible. Spreading health, love and care are my values that I fight to keep strong despite outer forces. I am someone who has been blessed with a strong family full of love and support, friendships that have lasted over decades, and love in many other places. I hope to be a source of love and happiness in as many lives as I can reach and connect with.

Art has been a lifelong mode of expression for me, ingrained into me since childhood, from drawing on the walls with crayons to an evolving love for creativity in many forms such as drawing, painting, crocheting, music, and more. Raised in a family of creatives, creativity feels innate to me, flourishing most when it resonates deeply within. Family is a primary source of inspiration that aids my creative flow. A lifelong dream of mine was to have a family of my own. My journey led me to find love and family with my partner, Dr. Noah Rimes, who has enriched my world beyond measure. Now a proud mother and wife, my passion for art intertwines with my deepest desires. Illustrating children’s books, a childhood aspiration, now a reality, allows me to combine my passion for art with my love for children and family.  As I continue evolving as an artist, my greatest aspiration is to share my creations and nurture creativity in my son. Collaborating with my family to create books of peace and tranquility for children fills me with great honor and purpose. Through our series of children’s books, we aim to spread peace and enlightenment to young minds everywhere.
